Cockpen Farm, Bonnyrigg

Returning home from a brick spotting trip to Morris Road, Newtongrange, I noticed some fly-tipped rubble on the opposite side of the road, at the entrance to Cockpen Farm, now being redeveloped into a housing estate. A quick inspection revealed a small number of brick. A poor example of the very common WHITEHILL, a single GISCOL (Glasgow Iron and Steel Corporation Limited) and a badly damaged brick with an incomplete brickmark which from experiance would read MOTHERWELL.
