Roll up, roll up, for the greatest turf adventure in the multiverse, well, here in Scotland anyway. Yes, TurfEmbra10 is here, the turf event you’ve all been waiting for. Take strange and exotic turf zones, meet equally strange and exotic people (yes, other turfers!) and generally have a jolly good time even if you don’t want too.

Organised by the world-famous Valkyrie-turf-warrior ElsieSpanner, the event takes place on Saturday the 28th of January 2023 and runs from 3.00 pm to 4.30 pm precisely, UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), in the Oxgangs and Colinton areas of Edinburgh. Look how excited the participants for TurfEmbra09 were last time afterwards (above). That’s me hiding at the back behind ChoccyMuffin (in pink hat).

TurfEmbra10 is a closed event which basically means you cannot just turn upon on the day and take part. You will need to sign-up in advance using the handy form listed below. Which, I will say is as easy as rhubarb pie for those who find such matters more akin to rocket science. If stuck, any 5-to-10-year-old will be able to assist. Best to avoid asking surly teenagers. I’m sure you will know what I mean.

The event is open to anyone, though turfers bringing sweeties, home-made cakes, fruit scones fresh from the oven or Kit-Kats will be looked upon most favourably. The event is open to both foot and bicycle turfers. Sad to say, no mention of kick scooter turfers which I must draw attention to in these times of political correctness. And yes, I’m a kick-scooterist-turfer and proud of it!

More details to follow soon but here’s a few useful links in the meantime.
