PG Advent Notes 2024

Welcome to the PG Turf Advent Calendar 2024, devilishly devised and craftily created by the mischievous editor of Planet Gary for turfers anywhere in the Multiverse to try their hand at, pull their hair out and most likely scream with frustration.

Please read the notes below thoroughly before competing but don’t take things too seriously, just enjoy attempting the various tasks and don’t worry too much about correct interpretations. It’s all flexible, meant to be enjoyable and most importantly of all, fun. Good luck.

Notes

  • The PG Turf Advent Calendar runs from 1st to 24th December.
  • If you need extra-time, you have up to 31st December 2024.
  • There are 24 different tasks, one for each day of the calendar.
  • Tasks should be completed separately and not combined.
  • Tasks should be completed on the same day but no worries if not.
  • The calendar is open to all Turfers here, there and everywhere.
  • No need to register or ask to take part. Just get on with it.
  • The tasks are not specific to Scotland and can apply anywhere.
  • The Optional task is entirely, well, optional. Please yourself.
  • Details will be posted on Planet Gary each evening for the next task.
  • Details will also be posted on the Turf Scotland WhatsApp group.
  • Normal turfing is generally allowed unless otherwise stated in the task.

Prize Draw

After the PG Turf Advent Calendar 2024 finishes there will be a prize draw. To have a chance at winning the prestigious Golden Turfman, as modelled by Bitzer*, a prize lovingly hand-crafted in the Planet Gary Bike Shed, this unique special award is hewn from the finest second-hand scrap mahogany and coated in genuine gold spray paint, simply let me know you wish to be entered in the draw using the contact details below to send me your email address and turf name. The draw will take place on 1st January 2025 and the winner will be announced on the Turf Scotland WhatsApp group. The prize will be posted out to the winner.
