Cockpen Church, Bonnyrigg

Returning home from the Prestonholm Mill landfill site, I passed by Cockpen Church and Graveyard, Bonnyrigg, on my way home and popped in to check out a small area beside the road where rubble and other waste was starting to accumulate. I could see bricks in the pile and quickly pulled out a MUIR, a nice new addition to the Scottish brickmarks list, as well as a CARFIN and a GISCOL. Just goes to show you can spot bricks just about anywhere. A walk through the cemetery revealed a few other brick being used as the foundation for gravestones but no brickmarks were visible. I’ll be visiting more graveyards from now on as I’m sure there will be something to be discovered..
