Turf zone – Newtongrange
Yesterday at TurfEmba10 turfer Fearglas mentioned about my unofficial medals, which got me thinking that evening just what else could I think up? Well, I’ve come up with two of them, the 2-in-1 and the 3-in-1 medals. The concept is quite simple really but could turn out to be easy, challenging or indeed mission impossible.
For the 2-in-1 medal all you need do is take two zones within 60 seconds, i.e. two zones within 1 minute, hence 2-in-1. The time starting after the first zone has been taken. Now, this might seem impossible but with some careful zone selection and perhaps some planning, it is possible. In fact, two such zones come to mind, WhyMurderDean and Newtongrange, both in Newtongrange, Midlothian. Should be possible here even on foot. I’m sure there are many others. The zones on the Loanhead Ferret run also come to mind.
Right, now for the 3-in-1. Same idea but you need to take three zones within 60 seconds. Factors such as a low take time, the 5 second GPS bonus as well as the Region Lords 5 second bonus might all help immensely. Actually, I’m not sure the 3-in-1 is even possible. Yes, quite probably mission impossible but I’m sure someone out there will find a way. Back soon.
