Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready? This is Turf Disco! We have Kylie Minogue, Can’t Get You out Of My Head from 2001. We have Blondie, Hanging On The Telephone from 1976. We have Kate Bush, Hounds of Love from 1985 and lastly, but by no means least, we have Eurythmics with Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) from 1983. So, get your dancing shoes on, place your handbag/man bag on the floor, crank that volume to max and get dancing. Okay, you don’t have to dance but I dare you not to at least wiggle about a bit. I guess all this give my age away?
Actually, I recorded this footage of a turfing session around Bonnyrigg with the aim of cutting and editing it to match a track called Go! by Public Service Broadcasting. However, I was really struggling to get started and eventually, after many, many tries, gave up. But not wanting to waste the footage I clipped them all together, added a few of my favourite female vocal tracks and posted online. Enjoy.
